DIETER MORSZECK FOUNDATION

Research for a life without cancer

His sister’s cancer prompted Dieter Morszeck to look into funding opportunities for the treatment of this disease. He found them at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg.

The DKFZ is one of the world’s leading cancer research centers. The DKFZ’s core tasks are to decipher the causes and mechanisms of cancer development and spread and to develop new strategies for the prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancer through innovative research.

The Dieter Morszeck Foundation supports projects at the DKFZ with a total volume of 34.5 million euros. The private research funds will ensure that the DKFZ remains a world leader in the research and development of personalized precision oncology.

The funds will help to initiate innovative projects and construct a biorepository building, train and support the next generation of researchers and researching physicians, and translate medically relevant findings into clinical trials.
